Adele knocking back pints on a curb with friends is peak 2020

Adele may be the one of the biggest music superstars on the planet but lockdown measures meant even she had to resort to drinking on curbs outside with her friends last year.

As New Year’s Eve drew to a close, a friend of the Someone Like You singer shared their most memorable moments from 2020 and managed to find slices of happiness in an otherwise bleak year.

One of those memories, posted by writer Laura Dockrill, included her enjoying a drinking session with Adele, 32, in London.

The musician is seen sitting between three friends wearing a face mask – health and safety first, of course – and holding onto a pint in one hand with what appears to be a cigarette in the other, while sitting on a curb.

Aside from the foursome gathered on the floor, the street was pretty empty so they were able to practice social distancing.

No doubt they’re ready to leave awkward drinking situations behind in 2020 as much as the rest of us.

It’s not known when the photo was taken but Adele is believed to have moved back to London earlier this year after primarily residing in California for the past few years.

The Grammy-winning singer made the most of the past year, including celebrating her 32nd birthday, partying in a Jamaican flag bikini and hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time.

However now, fans are hoping 2021 will be the year Adele releases her long-awaited fourth studio album.

A source told The Sun that the singer intends to ‘lay low’ for a while to completely concentrate on her new music.

‘She’s not been able to release new music yet and she’s totally focused on that and getting each track just right,’ they said.

‘She still has a network of people she works with and links up with when she is over here.’

During her SNL appearance, Adele shared an update on the album and said: ‘I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me just being a host, I’ve seen all of it like, “Why isn’t she the musical guest?” and stuff like that, and there’s a couple of reasons.

‘My album’s not finished and I’m also too scared to do both.

‘I would rather just put on some wigs – and this is all mine by the way – have a glass of wine or six and just see what happens.’
