Amy Willerton says she went into labour hours after her phone was stolen

Amy Willerton said she went into labour hours after she was mugged.

The model, 27, gushed she had welcomed baby girl Demelza Eira with her fiancé Daniel Day in an announcement on Instagram accompanied with pictures over the weekend.

New mum Amy tugged at heartstrings as she lamented her water broke just hours after she had her phone pick-pocketed.

Her phone contained all of her birth preparation including voice notes, a birthing playlist and her plan to get through early labour.

She told Hello! magazine : "I felt someone put their hand in my pocket and my phone – with all my birth preparation, voice notes, a birthing playlist, my plan to get through early labour – was gone.

"None of it was backed up. I began crying my eyes out. I was devastated. That night, my waters broke in bed at 1am and within two hours I was having three contractions every 10 minutes.

"Two midwives came and things progressed really quickly, but as the pain built up, labour slowed down."

The mugging incident unfolded during a shopping trip with her love in London's Oxford Street on January 2 at the start of this year.

In an emotional public letter on Instagram, the star outpoured her feelings about the terrible incident online with her fans.

She wrote: “Dear mr pickpocket, I do understand desperation often makes many of us turn to things we would rather not do.

“But I don’t think you understand the implications that stealing my phone ( that I had just bought to take better pictures of my baby) last week has had on something really quite important in my life.

“I was #41weekspregnant and therefore became an easy target. Remember when you see a pregnant lady she is not just that big belly – that baby is her hopes, dreams and future and her every waking breath goes into building and preparing for that new life.”

Amy got pregnant shortly after she got engaged to her man in March last year.
