BBC Breakfast’s weather presenter Carol Kirkwood had her fans in stitches as she took a swipe at Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood.

Carol, 61, took to Twitter (X) to share a photo of Craig’s waxwork at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, along with the caption: “Craig let’s discuss that two you gave me!!”

Many of her followers were tickled by the quip and took to the comments to react. Nigel laughed: “Go get him Carol, high pressure and storms looming.”

Christine said: “You’re such a good sport Carol,” and AK jested: “His judgement was cloudy.”

Carol took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev. Although they made it to Week Seven in the competition, the Scot recently warned that “it wasn’t good”.

Last month, BBC Breakfast hosts Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson quizzed Carol about her time on the show after announcing Amanda Abbington’s shock exit.

Ben chuckled: “Shall we waltz over to the weather with Carol?” And Sally said: “Carol can waltz and tango, and what else can you do? All of them.”

Carol then put her head in her hands and squirmed: “Oh my goodness, you’re reminding me of the horrors of my scores! It was two or four on a good day! It wasn’t good.”

Nevertheless, Carol said she’d never “regret” taking part in the BBC dance show, despite concerns about the glamorous outfits.

Chatting to her former BBC co-star Louise Minchin on the Her Spirit podcast, Carol admitted that she was worried about “low dresses” but thanked the costume department for taking her feelings into account.

She said: “Strictly was amazing, it was one of these programmes I’ll never forget or regret doing.

“I was conscious of low dresses, but they accommodated that, so it was a wee bit more modest.”

The stars of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 will travel to Blackpool this weekend to perform at the iconic Tower Ballroom.

Angela Rippon will be hoping to bounce back from last week’s dance off after she was saved over newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

This week, Angela and partner Kai Widdrington will be performing an American Smooth to Tea for Two by Ella Fitzgerald.

Also hoping to avoid the dreaded bottom two is Angela Scanlon, Annabel Croft, Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach, Layton Williams and Nigel Harman.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
