The model and singer has revealed she hid her depression behind a mask in the past.

Courtney Stodden took to Youtube to make the candid confession in a heartfelt video.

The 24-year-old told viewers she was in a “better position now” than she has been for a “long time” and reassured them that they “weren’t alone” if they were experiencing depression.

She explained: “I felt weak. I have felt weird and abnormal because I felt sad and had sad feelings and still to this day struggle with depression.

“Every day is hard so I just want to send so much love to you.”

Courtney touched upon her rollercoaster life, which saw her tie the knot with Hollywood actor Doug Hutchison when she was just 16 and he was 50.

The stunner continued: “Eight years ago today I got married at 16. Its been a really wild ride. That’s when I became famous, I went on reality TV and basically became a celebrity.

“The whole thing has been a complete mindf**k for me.”

Courtney credited music, writing and therapy for helping her manage her depression, before explaining that she now feels better than she had for years.

However, the bombshell issued a warning to her fans that the signs of depression aren’t always visible.

She said: “I’m a great actress, I can fool your pants off.

“I can tell you I’m happy and inside I’m crying.

“Depression doesn’t mean somebody walks around with a dark cloud over them so it’s obvious.”

The singer finished off the powerful message by encouraging her fans to reach out to those who may be struggling with mental health issues.

She added: “If you love someone you’ve got to reach out.

“It’s hard to open up, I struggle with vulnerability but.. don’t be afraid of depression and don’t be afraid of someone who has it.”

The songstress also excitedly revealed her new music would not be depressing but “slutty”.
