Denise Welch, 62, has spoken out about her spat with Piers Morgan, 55, after he branded her a “COVID-denier”. The Loose Women presenter and the Good Morning Britain host argued over Twitter after the former spoke about coronavirus “scaremongering” and how it impacts mental health on This Morning.
However, Denise has now insisted she’s “had enough” of her online debate with Piers.
She admitted: “I’ve just backed off now. I’ve had enough of it.
“I’ve said my piece and I tried to do what I could for the mental health of the people that follow me.
“Now I’m just keeping my head down and looking after myself and my family.”

The television personality went on to address her decision to quit Twitter following the situation.
Denise explained to OK! Magazine when quizzed on why she stepped away from the social media platform: “For personal reasons and I’m not commenting on the state of the nation any more.
“I did what I could to allay the fearmongering.”(sic)
Denise wrote when informing her 487,000 followers about her departure last month: “Guys I’ve decided to take a break from here.
“I hope I’ve helped balance the fear the media seems determined to continue.
“Just look at the data, ask questions and look after your loved ones.
“I’m on Instagram denise_welch,” she added.
Denise’s spat with Piers started when the latter tweeted: “Her idiotic, ill-informed ramblings – from a woman who never stops telling us that she suffers from mental illness – will cost lives by persuading people to think the virus isn’t a threat.”

The Loose Women star then fired back: “Please ask Mr Morgan to show me one tweet, one interview where I have denied Covid?’
“He doesn’t want to be telling complete and utter lies with such a huge following. Seriously.”
Denise’s colleague Nadia Sawalha stepped in to defend her and typed: “I genuinely hope that neither @piersmorgan nor anyone he loves ever has to endure the pain of struggling with their mental health.
“Sending you the biggest of hugs @RealDeniseWelch a damn fine woman is what you are.”
Piers retweeted it and added: “If I had a loved one suffering from mental illness, I would stop them going on TV to spout ill-informed nonsense about Covid no longer being a serious threat.”
While on This Morning, Denise said of coronavirus: “I’m not saying this is over. I’m not saying how horrendous this virus is and was.
“But at the moment we have a one in two million chance of dying of COVID and I have a one in three chance of getting cancer.
“So can the Government please tell us the proper statistics?”
