EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield has confidently posed on an Instagram video wearing lingerie as she slammed trolls and insisted she “doesn’t care” what people think.

Melissa, who played Lucy Beale on the hit BBC soap, has taken to her Instagram page named The Confident Mama to share a video with her 36.4k followers to hit back at trolls for body shaming.

In the video, she is initially seen wearing black trousers and a black v-neck sleeveless top but then covers the screen and appears in animal print lingerie.

The 29 year old actress is confident as she poses for followers and reveals how she “doesn’t care” what trolls say about her mum body.

She wrote on the video: “DMs strangers have left me ‘dancing around in your underwear is not feminism’, ‘put it away’.”

She shared more messages she has received including one which said: “You *can* be body positive with your clothes on, you know.”

She also tells how she received one message which read: “Why do you keep saying post baby body, your kid is 2 years old” and was even told: “your body is disgusting” as another cruel troll added: “Nothing nice or classy about it.”

Melissa can be seen laughing the comments off and then covering the screen to reveal herself in an animal print lingerie set.

She then added to the video: “I don’t care what you think of me and that gives me power.”

Before walking away from the camera with a final note: “Byeeee.”

Melissa captioned the video: “I get messages like this constantly. And it will always baffle me, the thought process behind actually taking the time out of your day to type and send something like this to someone you don’t even know. But hey, we don’t have to understand everyone.”

She went on: “You aren’t always going to be everyone’s cup of tea. People will do things differently than you, and that’s ok. Their version of parenting, body confidence, or which way round the toilet paper goes are not always going to be the same as yours but don’t let it spoil your day. We’re all entitled to an opinion- but don’t mistake that for openly airing them without consequence. It’s great that we all have a platform now, but scuttle off back to the vitriolic comment section you came from if you feel the need to say your piece.

“Don’t change yourself based on the opinion of anyone, especially someone who doesn’t matter. Don’t go seeking out criticism, and block and delete if it comes your way. And whatever you do, don’t let ANYONE make you feel small. You have all the power, don’t let anyone else have any of it for even a second.
