Former Eastenders star Adam Woodyatt has reportedly finalised his divorce from his wife of 22 years, Beverley Sharp.

The 54 year old soap star announced his split from his wife Beverley, 57, in 2020, after the Walford regular decided to call time on their 22 year marriage.

Yet ever since the split, the pair have been locked in intense negotiations as they hammered out the details of their divorce, something a source close to the couple has now revealed has finally been completed.

Having recently been served with a decree absolute, Bev is said to be delighted with the end of their negotiations, as she and Adam are now free to move on as single individuals and start the next chapter of their lives apart.

Speaking about the divorce, a friend of Bev told The Sun that the couple are now “officially divorced.”

They said: “As well as being his wife, Bev was also his manager for about a dozen years and she did so much for his career.

“She rejected some of the settlement offers she was sent during the process and now she’s glad she held her ground — she is delighted with the settlement.

“She still has no idea why he left her but that’s all in the past. She’s very upbeat and sees it as a new chapter. I’ve no doubt Bev will find someone new soon. She’s in a good place.”

Adam announced the couple’s decision to split in August 2020, after he had made the decision to formally part ways with his wife of over two decades.

The couple, who have two grown up children together, confirmed however that no third party was involved in the decision and that Adam had simply decided to leave the relationship, after staying away from the family home for several months.

Despite the split however, the two remain on good terms, with one friend even telling The Sun at the time: “They still get on well, and are keen to make sure they stay that way for the sake of their children – even though they are now grown up.”

Adam famously left Eastenders in 2021 after a 36 year stint on the popular BBC soap, but he has yet to confirm whether he’ll return to the soap at some point in the future, or if fans really have seen the last of Ian Beale.

Easily one of the soap’s most memorable characters, Adam’s character Ian was involved in several nail biting storylines over the years and tackled many hard hitting subjects such as a mental breakdown, homelessness and more than a few failed romances.
