Greg James reveals ‘bleak’ situation after being 'kidnapped' after Brits

Greg James has shed light on the rather ‘bleak’ situation he’s found himself in, imploring the public to help him break out of the prison he’s been plonked in after being kidnapped from the Brits on Tuesday.

Still in the clothes he was wearing when he headed to the music bash earlier this week, Greg – who was a no-show on his Radio 1 show yesterday morning – spoke this morning and shed some light on the current state of play after Dermot Kennedy shared his theories last night.

‘What a weird 24 hours it’s been, I’m still in the same clothes I was in yesterday. While I was listening to the breakfast show without me,’ Greg said this morning, sounding a little grim on the microphone while Jordan North and Arielle Free took the helm of his show.

He continued: ‘I guess it’s nice we know a bit more of the story now. But it’s been ridiculous. The amount of people getting in touch and involved is unbelievable really.

‘It’s clearly a stupid game that is being played with me and I’m being messed with, this has all been set up and planned meticulously. I woke up in this room with a microphone and a camera looking at me. Loads of things placed I don’t know how long before I knew about it.’

The likes of Sam Fender, Billie Eilish, Anne-Marie and Yannis from Foals have ruled themselves out as being Greg’s captor, with social media still going wild with theories.

However Greg has said he’s definitely ‘suspicious’ of Mollie King, with punters adding her name to the mix as Greg’s potential captor after seeing her wearing a key at the Brits.

So far the hints fans have to put together include a voice in Chinese Mandarin talking about a meal for the ‘prisoner’ and a red scarf that various stars sported on Tuesday night at the Brits celebrations.

There’s also a code and a big fat padlock on the door – which Greg was forced to address after fans were a little sceptical the lock was on the inside. Meaning Greg apparently knows the code (like there’s no producer in there with him, or secret door on the other side, or something).

He wrote on Twitter: ‘For all those mentioning the padlock on the inside…It has a code that I imagine I have to solve (with your help) in order to get out and see who my captor is…’

The presenter continued this morning: ‘This is not just putting me in a box and throwing away the key and guessing. This has got to unravel and it’s a good old fashioned mystery.’

Greg added, rather understandably: ‘It also feels slightly nightmarish.

‘The thing is, there’s a lot to go at and so many brains on this all over the world really that somebody will come up with this and that’s what I need. I need theories and to really think about all the bits. It is fun but ultimately I do want to get out of here ASAP.

‘I’m just lying here in pants. It’s bleak.’

Guys, who’s got Greg?!
