Kate Middleton is not keen on upstaging the Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, a royal expert has claimed.
With the Duchess of Cambridge's 40th birthday portraits showing her rising up the royal ranks, Ingrid Seward has said that Kate will not be stepping on Camilla's toes, who will become consort when Prince Charles is King.
Ingrid said: "People look at her and see the perfect queen, young and beautiful.
"Prince Charles is not even King yet, and the Royals are very careful about not upstaging each other. Kate will be keen not to upstage Camilla," she continued.
Ingrid added to The Mirror: "She is aware of hierarchy and that it is Camilla's turn."
It was added that Kate was a "wonderful advert for the monarchy, especially globally, and people will see her as the perfect queen".
Ahead of Kate's husband Prince William becoming King, his father Prince Charles will take on the role, with his wife Camilla by his side.
Kate was given the title of Duchess of Cambridge when she tied the knot with her other half Prince William, on 29 April 2011.
She has carried the title for over a decade now, with her children George, eight, Charlotte, six, and Louis, three, all taking on the surname Cambridge, too.
When William's father, Prince Charles, eventually rises up the ranks to become King, he will have to let go of his title of Prince of Wales.
It's likely that as William becomes heir to the throne, his 73 year old dad will pass on the title to him, which would make his wife Kate the Princess of Wales.
The last person to hold that title was William's mother, Princess Diana, who died 25 years ago in a car crash in Paris, France.
Out of use for over two decades, a source has explained that it will be a "bittersweet" moment for William if they do inherit the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales.
A source told The Telegraph: "I'm sure it'll be a bit of a bittersweet moment. This is her [Diana's] son and his wife, so in some ways it will be coming full circle – but it will also be a poignant reminder of what we all lost."
This comes after another royal expert and host of Royally Obsessed, Roberta Fiorito, said: "She [Kate] holds so much appeal, so much power. She could have been out there all day every day, putting her name to all these different things.
"What's clever about her is that she is always very careful and she has always given us just enough."
