Katherine Ryan looked every inch the proud mother as her baby son Fred was christened in Ireland.

The 38 year old, who is mother to a daughter from a previous relationship, gave birth to her nearly one year old son Fred, who she shares with husband Bobby Kootstra, last June.

And proud parents Katherine and Bobby, who are currently in dispute with their neighbours over their balcony, could not wipe the smile from their faces as they christened the youngster.

Canadian-Irish comedienne Katherine looked sensational in a tiered, ruffled, green floral dress that featured pussy-bow front detailing and fell at a chic midi-length level.

Katherine added to her look with a pair of towering pink stiletto heels as she shared snaps of her carrying adorable little Fred in her arms.

She sported a sensational blowdry, and her features were enhanced with a glamorous coat of make-up.

Katherine's 12 year old daughter Violet matched her mother in a sweet dress with the same floral print.

Bobby looked handsome in a cream-coloured suit that he wore over a white top.

Little Fred looked absolutely adorable in his white christening gown during the church ceremony.

The christening comes after Katherine opened up on the backlash she received after saying she had potty trained Fred when he was just eight months old.

"I didn't care. The reason that I share some of my parenting viewpoints, let's call them, is because I understand that they are unconventional," she told OK!

"I never want to shame any other parent or judge them for the way that they choose to train their children or raise their children, but I just feel like it's always useful to get a different perspective and to think outside the box."

"The way that I parent is unconventional. I respond to my children's needs immediately, I tour with them, I sleep with Fred – not Violet, obviously, she's too grown up, and I'm a boomer and a Karen, apparently – but I think it's good to offer people an alternative because I'm all about choice and variety."

She added: "I feel like you don't have to go by the book when it comes to parenting."

The Canadian star, who found fame after appearing on 8 Out Of 10 Cats in 2012, has dealt with her fair share of trolling since launching on to our TV screens. But a quick look through her Twitter profile shows her hitting back at many of her critics.
