Kristen Scott Thomas Reveals Why She Didn’t Move To Hollywood During The Height of Her Career

Kristen Scott Thomas is making a comeback with her brand new movie, Military Wives.

The 60-year-old British star, who starred in such films as The English Patient, The Horse Whisperer and Four Weddings and a Funeral, opened up about why she made the decision not to move to Hollywood during the 90s, when she was at the height of her career.

Instead, Kristen chose to move to Paris with her now ex-husband, François Olivennes.

“You’re not going to have a great career if you don’t have a happy family, and vice versa. It was a family decision,” Kristen shared with People. “My husband [a doctor] could not travel as easily as I could, and it meant a big career move for him.”

However, Kristen doesn’t have regrets about the decision.

“I don’t think I would have done theater, which is a huge part of my life, had I gone to America.”

Find out why this other actress stopped acting after starring in a hugely popular show, too.
