Liam Payne treated his ex Cherylto a “secret getaway” for her 38th birthday “to make her feel amazing”, according to reports.

The pair were been seen together at the end of June as they enjoyed each other's company at Liam’s niece’s birthday party in Wolverhampton.

And, it seems, they've been spending more time together too with Liam booking the special birthday spa break, which they reportedly went on with their son, Bear.

A source told Closer magazine said: "Liam wanted to do something really special this year to make her feel amazing and to spoil her – especially after so much single parenting during the lockdown – so he took her to a luxury spa retreat to unwind and be pampered."

"He took care of Bear while she enjoyed relaxation treatments and the three of them had some quality family time together, which made her feel very lucky," the source added.

Liam recently ended his engagement to model Maya Henry and revealed that he wants to spend time focusing on himself when discussing the split on Steven Barlett's Diary of a CEO podcast.

He said: "I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people.

"That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point.

"I'm just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else."

Despite the split, Liam appeared to send a public message to Maya in a string of recent Instagram Story posts.

He wrote: “Don't let someone go if you really want to love them even if you have to learn to love them through your own mistakes let your instinct tell you that you need them and keep them close we are always running out of time we never gain it."

Liam had told Steven of the break-up: "That's where I got to in my last relationship.

"I just wasn't giving a very good version of me anymore that I didn't appreciate and I didn't like being. I can honestly say I feel better out of it.

"I didn't feel good doing what I did but it had to happen. Just a corny way to say it was the best for us both."
