Nicki Minaj has explained the 2022 Met Gala wardrobe malfunction that left her tugging at the top of her dress.
Nicki, 39, looked incredible as she rocked the red carpet wearing a dramatic gown designed by Burberry’s Riccardo Tisci.
The strapless number showed off her ample cleavage with black tulle and feathers fanning out from her chest and cascading down to the floor.
But Nicki, who walked the red carpet with Riccardo, was noticeably tugging up her top as she navigated the carpet.
Nicki put the wardrobe malfunction down to her cup sizes being too small, as the spoke to La La Anthony who was interviewing on the red carpet.
She said: "The only unplanned thing about my look is that my boobs [are] popping out because they made my cup size a little small.”
La La went on to joke that the dress must have been made before Nicki gave birth to her son in 2020.
Nicki laughed and replied: "Enjoy these t***es, because you won’t ever see them again.”
Nikki's outfit featured a huge black and silver belt which cinched in her waist, and she wore black leather trousers underneath it which stretched into high-heeled boots.
The Anaconda rapper’s arms, chest and face were adorned with different-sized black gems, and on her head she wore a black leather cap.
Her raven tresses were slicked back from her face into a poker-straight ponytail, and her bronzed complexion was completed with copper-coloured eyeshadow, winged eyeliner and fluttery black lashes.
Nikki went on to lavish praise on her dress designer, Riccardo, saying: "I’m here with my baby, Riccardo. I love Riccardo, that’s really my friend. So I’m here supporting him, that’s all. But I love the hat.
"I’m obsessed with the hat. I didn’t wanna do the look if I couldn’t do the hat. So, he let me wear the hat."
Speaking about not being patient as the black jewels were fixed to her skin, Nicki said: "You know I don’t like to sit, I’m so impatient, but everything’s for Riccardo. [McGrath’s] whole team did such an amazing job, and I was honoured,"
Nicki joined a whole host of A-listers who rocked the red carpet in a range of over-the-top and glamorous looks.
Also in attendance was Kim Kardashian, who wore 1950’s icon Marilyn Monroe’s bejewelled dress that the pin-up actress famously wore to serenade President John F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday in 1962.
