Proud dad Peter Andre has shared his excitement at the news his eldest child has landed a new gig following the success of his debut single, Slide.

Junior Andre, 17, took to Instagram on Saturday (28 January) to announce that he would be appearing at Camp Bestival Shropshire, which advertises itself as "the UK’s Favourite Family Festival" and runs from August 17 to August 20.

In the post, the teenager wrote: "I’m gonna be appearing at @campbestivalshropshire this summer. Can’t wait! Who’s coming? #campbestival"

This was quickly followed by a comment from dad Pete, who simply said: "Let’s goooo," followed by three flame emojis. Pete also took to his own Instagram page where he shared his son's post on his story.

Again, he wrote: "Let's go son," followed by four flame emojis.

The news comes after Junior stormed to the top of the charts within hours of releasing his debut single in 2022. His track, Slide, sold more than both Harry Styles and Lady Gaga.

And the other debut song to enter the charts, The King and I by Eminen, entered the charts at number 14.

Following his success in the charts, Junior thanked his fans on Instagram by writing: "Thank you to all those who have supported."

He added: "You guys are mad can we get this to the top?" At the time, Slide sat in fourth position but made it to the top following his post.

Supportive dad Pete was clearly impressed by his son's achievement. Commenting on his son's post he said: "What a start. Wow son," and mum Katie Price wrote she was "so proud" of her boy.

Before Slide had been officially released the track had been teased by Junior across TikTok for weeks – where clips of the song had gathered more than six million views.

In June, Junior performed his song for the first time on stage and was supported by rapper and comedian Big Narstie, as well as his sister, Princess Andre and his dad.

Sharing a clip of her brother's performance on social media, Princess said she was "so proud". The musician was joined on stage by two backing dancers.

The intimate crowd were clearly all fans of the 17 year old as many knew every word of his debut song. At the end of the performance, Pete shared a heartwarming snap of him and his son embracing.

He wrote: "You have no idea how proud I am of you tonight son."
