Sonja Morgan always has a great time.
The “Real Housewives of New York City” star told Page Six at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Saturday what it was like to go clubbing with one of the night’s honorees a few decades ago.
“I used to party with Madonna and John John all the time, remember?” Morgan, 55, joked, referencing a line from the Bravo series, in which she said she partied with the pop star and son of former President John F. Kennedy. “That was back when I was in school before anyone had cell phones.”
According to the reality star, she would see celebrities at the Palladium, a nightclub in New York that opened in 1985, when she was a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
“We would all hang out in the Michael Todd room,” she added. “Once you got in the private room, everyone was in the same level. They didn’t care what your walk of life was. It was very private. Nobody asked who anybody was.”
Morgan said at the time she hung out with “fabulous gays who dressed to the nines with a breastplate or a bustier or a tiara, and looking like Madonna, basically.”
At the GLAAD Media Awards, the “Like a Virgin” singer received the Advocate for Change Award. Bravo’s Andy Cohen, was also honored with the Vito Russo Award.
