Zoe Ball stood in as one of the main presenters of BBC’s The One Show last night when she interviewed Hollywood superstar Jennifer Aniston. On her radio show this morning, she admitted she was “still getting over” their chat on the show.

Zoe and co-host Jermaine Jenas spoke to Jennifer and Reese Witherspoon about their new season of The Morning Show.

Viewers watched as the pair quizzed the stars about their careers on the nightly chat show.

Opening up about the moment, Zoe admitted she was “still getting over it”.

She said on her BBC Radio 2 show this morning: “I had the pleasure of sitting on the green sofa on The One Show last night.

“I was keeping the side warm for the gorgeous Alex Jones who has had her baby.

“Thank you to Jermaine Jenas for making me feel so welcome, we had so much fun.”

Zoe then added: “Jennifer Aniston was on the show with Reese Witherspoon.

“We’re still all just getting over that moment of talking to Jennifer Aniston.”

However, some viewers of The One Show last night called out some “awkward” moments.

At one point, Zoe asked whether Jennifer would enjoy working on live TV, like her character in The Morning Show.

The Friends star admitted she’d gone behind the scenes at Good Morning America to get an idea of how it worked.

She replied: “I learned the slow burn that it is.

“It’s a very vampire state of life and mind that you guys live in.

“Everybody comes alive in the middle of the night and it’s a slow-moving train.”

Jennifer then continued: “I got there at five in the morning and the hallways were quiet and people are just slowly waking up and then all of a sudden, the train starts moving and it gets crazier and crazier. It’s utter chaos.”

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the chat, one viewer called it awkward.

They penned: “How awkward! Jennifer Aniston admitting she hates live TV and calling them all vampires. I cannot cope.”

Another added: “Jennifer Anniston’s ‘tude in this interview is cringe.(sic)

“She keeps on looking to the side awkward.”

Other viewers called out another moment in the interview when Jermaine said: “Reese, I’m going to be honest with you.

“Jennifer’s pretty much sold it to me that she’s not a morning person.”

Jennifer then cut in saying: “Did I sell that to you? Did I get a good deal?”

One viewer commented: “Did anyone else catch Jennifer Anniston’s negative reaction to the male presenter regarding the morning person bit? Awkward”

However, not all the viewers thought the interview was awkward.

A fan wrote: “Jennifer Anniston is always so great in interviews. Really articulate and seems so lovely.”

“Jennifer Aniston is a legend, I’m hyped she’s on #theoneshow rn,”(sic) a second penned.
