Tom Felton took to Instagram to reassure fans he was ‘on the mend’ after collapsing during a celebrity golf match this week.

The Harry Potter star, 34, who played Draco Malfoy in the franchise, had been stretchered off the course on Thursday after experiencing a medical emergency during practice day ahead of the Ryder Cup at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Fans and friends had flocked to send well-wishes to the actor, who took to Instagram to thank them on Saturday.

He told them: ‘Hello everyone, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the lovely well wishes as of recent… yeah, bit of a scary episode really.

‘But on the mend, people have been taking really good care of me so thank you very much to anyone who has sent messages of get well soon, because I am on the mend officially, in case you were worried.’

He then strummed on his guitar as he sang lyrics telling his fans not to worry as he will be ‘just fine’.

Tom added: ‘Thank you so much for your help, I’m on the road to recovery. So thanks to everyone who helped me out.  Time to go watch some Ryder Cup action.’

His friend Derek Pitts shared an update on his own Instagram page on Friday, writing beside a photo of Tom: ‘He’s okay,’ as well as a heart emoji.

‘Speedy recovery brother,’ he added.

Tom has not revealed what caused the medical emergency which saw him collapse, before being helped to his feet and then laid onto a stretcher on a golf cart to seek medical attention.

Thankfully, he seems to be well on the way to recovery.
