Rebel Wilson has been enjoying a massive life transformation as of late. The Bridesmaids breakout spent the past year getting serious about her health and she’s dropped a massive 40 pounds thus far, confirming in November 2020 that her goal weight had been reached a month earlier than expected. More importantly, Wilson seems happier than ever before. She admitted to The Irish Mirror that, aside from wanting to get fit, the change was motivated by her career aspirations.
As the comedic star explained in January 2021, “I literally feel as if I have to physically transform because it’s very difficult for people to imagine [me in serious roles] for some reason — even though we’re in a very imaginative industry.” Now, it appears all that hard work has paid off in more ways than one. The Aussie actress announced that she has an exciting new project on the horizon — and it’s not at all what you’re thinking.

Rebel Wilson took to Instagram to share that Pooch Perfect is coming to American screens in 2021 after originally airing on Australia’s Seven Network last year. The dog grooming competition show will air on ABC later this year. As Wilson noted, Lisa Vanderpump, celebrity dog groomer Jorge Bendersky, and vet Dr. Callie Harris make up “our trio of amazing judges.” Wilson is hosting and she’s fully “ready to bring paw-some themed grooming challenges and adorable puppies to your screens!”
People noted that, in a press release, ABC confirmed the series comprises eight episodes in which “10 of the best dog groomers in the country, along with their assistants” will compete “in a series of outrageous themed challenges.” There are two each week, with one team eliminated at the end of the episode up until the finale, in which three teams will face off “for a giant cash prize and the coveted Pooch Perfect first place trophy.” Fans gushed in the comments about how excited they were to watch, with many also pointing out how great Wilson looks.
