weber and UNUSED Celebrate the Endless Iconicism of Disney's Mickey Mouse

For the second installment of its “weber RECONSTRUCTIONR” project, itinerant second-hand clothing collective, weber, has teamed up with Japanese label UNUSED once again to spotlight vintage styles with a contemporary outlook.

Celebrating the endless iconicism of Mickey Mouse, the capsule is led by a reproduction of a weathered T-shirt marked by the iconic Disney character owned by the founder of weber. The retro 88% cotton/12% rayon base is synonymous with ’80s and early ’90s styling accented by heavy bio-wash. Marked with a peeled and cracked flocky graphic that replicates the aging of 40 years of deterioration, the instantly recognizable silhouette and color tones of the base serve to prove the iconic character’s place in pop culture through the ages.

Also drawn from the anonymous weber founder’s archive is a reproduction of a 1980s XXXL Flannel Shirt and Pants set. The relaxed fit arrangement features a wide cut and rugged construction that utilizes a premium flannel textile. The included shirt comes complete with back quilting, flap pockets and classic button closure, while the pants come with an elasticated drawstring waistband and brushed back for an added element of warmth.

Priced between ¥20,000 and ¥46,000 JPY (approximately $192 and $442 USD), the weber x UNUSED capsule collection will be released exclusively on weber’s website December 23, 12 p.m. JST (December 22, 10 p.m. EST).
