STAYING in has become the new going out.
But doing so at a hotel comes at a premium — with prices ranging from an average £94 per night in Aberdeen to £220 in London.
You can still get a luxe break on a budget though — so bed down with these offers . . .
TAKE A FIFTH OFF: Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels are offering 20 per cent off two-night stays in a UK city, including at the 4H Midland Hotel, Manchester.
Guests can cancel for free up to 2pm on the day of arrival. The discount is automatically applied to any two-night stays on flexible room rate bookings.
PARK YOUR WALLET: Park Plaza hotels (part of the Radisson group) have a brilliant Ready Steady Go offer, which gives up to 35 per cent off your stay. You don’t pay until you leave, plus kids stay and eat free. There’s also a Dine and Dream offer, giving 25 per cent off dinner, bed and breakfast, if you fancy a break without the little ones.
PREMIER LEAGUE: Take a deep dig around premierinn.com as the group often has hidden deals. I found hotel rooms for as low as £35 per night even during half-term. When I asked Premier Inn insiders for advice, they told me that December is a good time to book seaside trips for the next year and make a huge saving.
STAMP ’N’ SAVE: Book via hotels.com to take advantage of its great loyalty scheme. Book nine nights, get nine stamps and you get a free “reward night” based on the average value of your previous spends. Just make sure you’re signed up for the scheme.
You can also earn points by booking for friends and family, which entitle you to everything from free room upgrades to secret member prices. Go via a cashback site for extra savings.
CHEAP CHOICES: Want to find some really great deals? My favourite sites to use are travelzoo.com, secretescapes.com, voyage-prive.co.uk and wowcher.co.uk. Sign up for their newsletters to get the best hotel offers first.
