It’s no secret that there are certain style rules that the royals have to follow including certain hem lengths, carrying accessories in a certain hand and wearing certain colours at particular events so we’re not shocked that Kate Middleton has some clever tricks up her sleeves.

Strapless Shapewear

Myka Meier, a royal etiquette expert told The Sun “Underwear and bras are considered private intimate wear, and for royals to put intimate apparel on display would simply not be done.”

You may have not noticed but the Duchess avoids underwear lines and visible bra straps at all costs. The mum-of-three opts for a sewn in bra or strapless shapewear that either snaps at the bottom or has legs attached.

Tip – Shapewear is always handy to have in your knicker draw, they’re perfect for smoothing unwanted lines and streamlining your shape.

Taking style tips from the Queen, it’s extremely likely that Kate also uses weights to avoid her hem lines rising or blowing up in the wind while out and about. Stewart Parvin, who has dressed the Queen for years, admitted that he adds weights into the hemlines of her frocks and coats to make them hang nicely.
