My girlfriend wants to move in with me but I think this would break coronavirus lockdown rules – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY girlfriend wants to move in with me, which I’d love, but is she allowed during lockdown?

We are in our twenties, met online and live 200 miles apart.

She had a low-paid job but lost that because of Covid-19.

Now she can’t pay the rent or feed herself, and has no family around. I could support her if she moved in.

DEIDRE SAYS: She should check Martin Lewis’ website moneysavingexpert.com to see what she is entitled to after losing her job.

You are allowed to leave your home in an emergency.

If she will end up broke and homeless, that is an emergency.  But when she reaches you, it’s best she self-isolates for seven days, or the two of your together for 14 days, to be sure you are not carrying the virus.
