Princess Eugenie could be the first royal to meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new baby girl, Lilibet Diana, after their arrival in the UK.
The couple have reportedly requested for a meeting with Her Majesty in the coming weeks to introduce her to their new daughter, who was born in June.
However, it might be Prince Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie who meets her first.
If the Sussexes come to the UK, they are likely to stay at their former Windsor home where Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their baby August are currently residing.
Princess Eugenie and her husband have been living at Frogmore in Windsor since last December. Eugenie gave birth to their first child, a son named August, in February.
Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California last year, they are believed to have remained close to Prince Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie.
Princess Eugenie shared a rare peek inside her Frogmore home when she took part in a video clip for The Anti-Slavery Collective, which she co-founded with her friend Julia de Boinville in 2017.
In the virtual appearance, viewers were able to catch a glimpse of her living room, which was decorated with printed cushions on the sofa. Eugenie has shared more images of the beautiful grounds of Frogmore. A recent photograph showed her holding her baby boy against a backdrop of daffodils to celebrate World Environment Day.
During Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan revealed that she had known Princess Eugenie before meeting Harry.
When Oprah asked Meghan how she felt when the Queen dropped in unexpectedly at Royal Lodge, where Princess Eugenie lived, Meghan replied: “Eugenie and I had known each other before I knew Harry, so that was comfortable.”
Although it is not known how Meghan and Eugenie met, it is thought that they might have been introduced by the same mutual friend who set Meghan and Harry up.
