Star of the documentary Joe Exotic – real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage – had a very rocky few years whilst filming the show.
Unfortunately, things haven't gotten much better for the platinum-haired tiger lover.
Whilst the series followed Joe's running of the controversial private zoo based in Oklahoma, a case was built against him and he was sent to Prison back in 2019, meaning he was already behind bars before the show was released.
The 58 year old is two year into a 17-year sentence at FMC Fort Worth, after being found guilty of animal abuse and a murder for hire plot.
Due to Tiger King's popularity, Joe's legal team decided to ask former US President Donald Trump to be pardoned, but their wish was not granted.
In May 2021, Joe revealed (via Twitter, no less) that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He wrote on the social media platform: "ohn Phillips has received my medical records from FMC Fort Worth and my PSA count came back very high for prostate cancer.
"The prison has approved testing to verify what stage it is in.
"My body is tired, I have lost a tremendous amount of weight, the mouth sores are out of control, I throw up more than I eat."
After his previous request was rejected by Trump in 2020, the star's legal team has yet again pleaded for a pardon, this time asking US President Joe Biden.
Mr Exotic himself asked the President: "I don't want anyone's pity, what I need is when John Phillips gets the evidence he is working on, I need the world to help him get President Biden, VP Harris and the Attorney General to listen to the evidence.
"And see that it’s not just city cops out of control with corruption, but his very own Department of Justice and make this right and sign that pardon that Trump left behind so I can go home and get proper medical care and proper food."
She was quite possibly one of the biggest meme-stars of 2020, and was a highly sought after Halloween costume too, but Carole Baskin has been keeping herself incredibly busy since she gained overnight stardom on the show.
Unlike her nemesis Joe Exotic, Carole has kept herself out of jail, and on the silver screen.
The 60 year old still runs the infamous Big Cat Rescue and is based in Tampa, Florida, but there's been quite a few legal battles going on since the show aired.
In June 2020, Carole managed to win over Joe's whole zoo after she started a lawsuit against the Greater Wynnewood Development Group.
At the time, Exotic's zoo was being run by Jeff Lowe, but a judge ruled in Carole's favour, ordering the property to be turned over to her.
Carole's most notable moment since Tiger King aired has to be her appearance on the US competition show, Dancing With The Stars.
After performing three cat-related dances alongside her professional partner Pasha Pashov, Carole was sadly eliminated in week three.
