Why does Abbie Quinnen have third degree burns?

Abbie has reportedly suffered third degree burns after a social media video went horribly wrong.

The star’s girlfriend, 23, is said to fear for her career after the terrifying accident.

AJ, 26, and Abbie were understood to be filming a hack for a social media on how to cut a glass bottle in half to be used as a vase.

The trick involves dipping a rope in a flammable chemical and wrapping it around the bottle before lighting the rope on fire.

But, the “hack” is said to have gone wrong when the wine bottle exploded in dancer Abbie’s face and set her hair and clothing alight, which caused third degree burns.

I’m A Celebrity star AJ is said to have doused the flames before sailing 999. But, when told how long the ambulance would take to arrive, AJ and his brother Curtis Pritchard are said to have driven Abbie to the hospital themselves.

A source has told The Sun on Sunday: “AJ and Abbie were stuck at home during lockdown and, like many people, started making social media videos to pass the time.

“But this tutorial went horribly wrong. Abbie’s whole upper body went up in flames.

“It all happened very quickly. It was like something from a horror film.”

When did Abbie Quinnen meet AJ Pritchard?

Abbie was a dancer on AJ's Get On The Floor tour which he announced at the end of December 2018.

According to The Sun, Abbie and AJ first started dating back in May 2018 after she auditioned for the show and he snapped her up.

But speaking about their first date with OK! Magazine, the professional dancer said: “I took the whole cast out for dinner to say thank you, and then we went to a club.

“Abbie and I were talking a lot, and I was really attracted to her once I got to know her. For our first official date we went for dinner, then I booked us a hotel in London. Because my apartment didn’t have any furniture at the time. That sounds really bad, doesn’t it?!”

He continued: “I’m very business-minded so I didn’t really talk to Abbie until the tour had finished. I did think she was really pretty and I enjoyed seeing her dance. I’d watch her, then cheer a bit too enthusiastically.

“And when we danced together there was a really special connection – I think that’s why dancers often end up together.”

Abbie added: “I was attracted to AJ from the start, but I didn’t think that he would be into me. And he did drop me on seven out of the eight shows!”

When did Abbie and AJ make their romance official?

AJ went Instagram official with his current girlfriend, dancer Abbie Quinnen in July 2019.

The heartthrob took to the social media platform to share the news, and posted a sweet snap of himself and Abbie, 23, looking loved-up while on holiday in Greece.

AJ said: “Feeling happy,” followed by a love heart emoji as the pair smile from ear-to-ear.

Since their announcement, it seems the relationship has gone from strength to strength, with Abbie spending lockdown at AJ’s family home and they have since said they're even thinking about wedding plans.

"Yeah, we’re like that couple who see a movie or something about weddings on Instagram, then talk about whether we’d want it at ours. We always discuss nice ideas and stuff about our own day," AJ told OK! Magazine.
