DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN I dress up as a woman my wife loves it.

She even comes shopping with me to buy dresses and bras.

I’m 39 and have always felt so relaxed and sexy wearing women’s clothes.

My wife, who is 38, has known about my need to cross-dress since before we married, ten years ago.

She has always been so supportive. She helps me pick out silky blouses and lacy knickers and we do our make-up together.

I would dearly love to go out in public dressed as a woman but I am too shy.

The most I have managed is wearing knickers under my jeans. Even then, it feels like everyone is staring at me.

My wife says I shouldn’t care what other people think and just be myself.

How do I get over my fear and feel more confident?

DEIDRE SAYS:  You are lucky to have such a great marriage and a wife who loves every aspect of you. Take confidence from her belief in you.

She is proud to be seen out with you, as man or woman.

Going out in public will feel scary at first but once you have done it, you will feel so much better.

My support packs on cross-dressing and raising your confidence should provide the advice you need to help you face your fears.
