Christmas is right around the corner.

And what better way to get in the festive spirit than belt out some classic Christmas tunes.

From a bit of Last Christmas to All I Want for Christmas Is You, exercising your pipes is a fun way to spread a bit of festive cheer.

However, driving home for Christmas could potentially land you with a whopping £5,000 fine if you are belting out holiday season hits.

When your favourite track comes on it is more than tempting to turn up the volume to sing away to your heart's content.

But for some that means they could get a little carried away.

If you are found to be driving without due diligence a hefty fine may be the only thing under the Christmas tree this year.

Enough to make anyone into a scrooge!

A £5,000 fine could be given to drivers who blast loud music or sing and dance while on the road – which could be classed as “careless” driving.

Your Christmas show on wheels will see you get nine points on your licence and then a £5,000 fine if you are involved in an accident.

Even more, experts have previously alleged that if there is dashcam footage of you getting your boogie on before you are in an accident you could be prosecuted due to driving without due care and attention.

If you don’t want to be faced with points and fines then maybe you need to stay away from some of the big tunes.

Shakin’ Stevens iconic festive hit, Merry Christmas Everyone, has taken the throne as the most distracting Christmas tune to dance to whilst driving.

In at number two, cheery Spanish hit Feliz Navidad by José Feliciano at 76% for the most distracting.

However, a recent hit has taken the third spot at the most distracting song to listen to whilst driving.

Liam Gallagher’s 2020 song All You’re Dreaming Of racked up a distraction score of 70%.

But fear not, it has also been revealed that there are some Christmas tunes that are less distracting.

For a smooth drive, Nat King Cole’s All I Want For Christmas sits at the top of list for least distracting.

Whilst other classics, Baby It’s Cold Outside by Ella Fitzgerald secured second place and Bing Crosby’s Little Drummer Boy came in at third.

Maybe let’s just leave the rocking for around the Christmas tree!
