ARSENAL are set to miss out on Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow as he closes in on a move to Sevilla, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta has already added Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber to his squad this summer.

And Arsenal were being heavily linked with Sow, 26, as additional cover for the outgoing Granit Xhaka.

But now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed he is on course to pen a five-year contract with Sevilla.

He tweeted: "Djibril Sow to Sevilla, here we go!

"Deal in place, player has now accepted and the agreement is sealed.

Switzerland international Sow played alongside ex-Arsenal man Xhaka at the World Cup last year.

Xhaka, 30, has since departed the Emirates to join Bayer Leverkusen following a seven-year stay in North London.

And Rice's arrival immediately plugged the gap in the squad as he joined Thomas Partey and Jorginho as experienced central midfield options for Arteta.
