DINAMO ZAGREB star Dani Olmo is emerging as a major name of the January window with Barcelona confident of a deal for the attacker.
The Catalans are reportedly nearing a £25.5million deal for a player also eyed by Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Having found great form in Croatia over the past two seasons, Olmo stepped up to the Champions League this campaign and impressed as Zagreb narrowly missed out on a place in the last-16.
With a place in Spain's Euro 2020 squad in his sights, a January move is on the player's agenda.
And Goal claim Barcelona are leading the race to sign him.
A £25.5m offer is on the table from the Blaugrana but Dinamo are said to want £34m before sanctioning a sale.
But they are negotiating over a man who has clearly stated his desire to move on.
Olmo, 21, told L’Esportiu in the week: "I am in the best form of my short career and I feel great.
"Maybe the ideal time to leave the Dinamo would have been last summer, but no offers came.
"I don’t know [about a January move], it’s a matter of my representatives.
"But if there is an understanding between the clubs, I think the best thing for everyone is to leave Zagreb now.
"Dinamo would get a good transfer fee and I would play in one of the biggest teams in the world, in one of the five best leagues. My goal is to go to the European Championship."
In fact, Olmo spent a number of years on Barcelona's books as part of their famed La Masia academy.
Many Spanish football onlookers were surprised when he left Spain for Zagreb but his success so far indicates his path to the top is still very much open.
