    READY TO PAY THE BIL

Canelo Alvarez is 'fed up' with Billy Joe Saunders ahead of their fight tonight, according to former world champion Chris Algieri.

Pound-for-pound king Canelo and WBO super-middleweight champion Saunders will meet in front of 70,000 fans in Texas for three of the 168-pound belts.

When asked if Saunders is trying to get under Canelo's skin, Algieri told Fighthype: “Maybe, but I also think that’s just the way Saunders is, and I mean in terms of his personality, not so much his fighting style.

“Maybe that is why he does that, but I just think that’s the way he is. He’s a ball buster, and it’s hilarious. But Canelo is not looking too enthused.

“I think this is the most focused I’ve seen him in a fight week in a long time. He [Saunders] could [get it to work for him], but Canelo at this point is such a seasoned veteran.

"It’s going to be really tough to get him off his game, to get him off his focus to the point where it’ll affect him negatively."

    YOU'RE KIDDING

Let's remind ourselves of just how much tonight's shot at Canelo means to Billy Joe Saunders.

He told the Telegraph earlier this week: "This means everything to me, everything.

"Absolutely everything. More than money, more than fame, more than anything. I want to win this so bad.

"If it means I say goodbye to my kids, and I never see them again, I can leave this earth happy knowing I have won.

"It means that much to me. As us gypsies say, 'We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over.'"

    MAY HAPPEN

    SunSport Exclusive by Emma Parry

Floyd Mayweather is in talks to fight Billy Joe Saunders if he beats Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, an insider has claimed.

It comes with the 50-0 undefeated boxing legend considering a shock return to professional boxing.

"Floyd is considering a return to professional boxing and wants to fight Billy Joe Saunders,” the source said.

"After the Logan Paul fight, he really wants to beat his brother Jake. Then he's hoping to fight Conor McGregor next year.

"But he doesn't just want to do these kinds of exhibition matches.

"He rates Billy Joe and he's been in talks to fight him if he beats Canelo. Remember Floyd is the only fighter to ever beat Canelo.

"Floyd always keeps himself in top shape so it's not going to be hard for him to make the come back."

Let’s have another look at the tale of the tape.

Since then he’s defeated Gennady Golovkin, Amir Khan, Callum Smith and many more.

    Saunders, meanwhile, is undefeated.

Yet he’s never fought anyone as prestigious as Canelo and will need to pull of a big shock if he’s to become a super-middleweight champ.

    SAUNDERS BELIEVES

Billy Joe Saunders is confident he can defeat Canelo Alvarez in their world title unification fight this evening.

Canelo is the favourite with the bookies and has lost just once in his illustrious career.

But Saunders, who is undefeated, thinks he can be victorious.

The British fighter said: "I have the belief and spirit and winning mentality to beat Alvarez.

"I don’t think Alvarez has faced anyone with the same heart as me. I have come here to take all of these titles.

"I have to be at my best and on my A-game.

"These fans will push me on to win, they are all for Canelo but on the way out there will be cheering for me."

    YES IT CAN

Canelo and Saunders are on course to surpass Anthony Joshua's rematch with Andy Ruiz as DAZN's most-watched fight ever.

British DAZN exec Joe Markowski told SunSport: "It's right up there as one of the biggest, if not the biggest fight we've had on the platform from a boxing perspective since we launched our boxing program.

"Any Canelo fight is big, that's been proved over the last three years for us, this is the biggest Canelo fight it feels like for me.

"All of our numbers, all of the trends all of the general fight hype feels bigger in the US but obviously in the UK, even where Billy Joe comes from and that's tremendously exciting for us.

"So yeah, I do think it's the biggest fight we've had on the platform to date."

"Don’t poke the bear. It seems like it. It was funny that exchange with the handshake and the fist," Algieri added when asked if Canelo will make Saunders pay for his trash talk.

"I thought that was really indicative because it seemed like Billy Joe was going to fake it, and Canelo beat him to it. He’s like, ‘Uh ah.’

"I thought that was an interesting exchange between the two. It seems like Canelo is fed up."

    PAUL HIS LEG

Elsewhere in boxing, Jake Paul continued his mocking of Floyd Mayweather – by selling 'gotcha hat' merch.

The YouTuber has launched a whole range of items available on his website taking a pop at the boxing legend.

Items include a range of hats and caps at £18 each, hoodies up to £43 and even a £7 mug.

It follows Paul getting 'gotcha hat' and an image of a cap tattooed on his leg as a permanent reminder of the chaos that unfolded at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Jake's older brother faced off with Mayweather ahead of their June 6 exhibition bout when the younger Paul shouted 'you wanna make it two in one night' to the 50-0 king.

As he made his way over to confront the YouTuber, fired-up Mayweather said: "Yes."

Drama then ensued when Jake stole Mayweather's hat – with the pair eventually separated by their entourages.

A member of Floyd's team did catch Paul, 24, leaving him with a vicious black eye.

    ON THE VERGE

The blockbuster undisputed heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could be announced TONIGHT.

Promoter Eddie Hearn – who is currently in Texas for Saul 'Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders – confirmed on Friday that the deal for the huge heavyweight showdown was 'done'.

And he has now gone one step further by hinting that we could have an announcement about the first of a two-fight deal after the Canelo-Saunders clash this evening.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Hearn said: "A lot of people think we're going to announce on Saturday… we might. It won't be far off that if we do [delay].

"Fury is on board, AJ is on board, they've all signed the site agreement, but it's a lot of money. Unfortunately I can't just tell the lawyers to hurry up.

"But that fight is done, and you'll get an announcement very soon."

    BILLY JOE SAUNDERS NET WORTH

Saunders will rake in a career-high pay day when he faces boxing's biggest star Canelo Alvarez this weekend in Texas.

The two-weight world champion has already picked up some hefty purses throughout his career, however, and will be doing so again on Saturday.

He is reportedly worth around £1.5million, according to Net Worth Portal.

The Hertfordshire-born fighter has been in big domestic bouts with the likes of Andy Lee, John Ryder, Chris Eubank Jr and Martin Murray.

Saunders also beat fearsome middleweight puncher David Lemieux out in Canada back in 2017.

He was reportedly paid £715,000 for his efforts against Lemueux, who he ousted on points.

Saunders will make £3.8m all in all for his fight with Alvarez, meaning he is set to triple his net worth in one night.

    MAY HAPPEN

Floyd Mayweather is in talks to fight Billy Joe Saunders if he beats Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, an insider has claimed.

It comes with the 50-0 undefeated boxing legend considering a shock return to professional boxing.

Mayweather was the only boxer to ever defeat Canelo, who is widely regarded as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world.

Brit Saunders, an undefeated WBO super middleweight champ, has a chance to cause a major upset in the boxing world if he beats the Mexican boxing star on Saturday in their world title fight.

A victory could also lead to a match with boxing legend Mayweather, according to a source in Money's camp.

Mayweather, who faces YouTuber Logan Paul in an exhibition match on June 6, has not fought a pro boxer since his retirement in 2017.
