A CRINGEY flashback video shows Chelsea boss Graham Potter has barely aged since FA Cup heroics for York City 20 years ago.

Every aspect of Potter's career has changed dramatically – except his appearance.

But although his long, blond hair was at the peak of its glory in 2002, he might shudder at the words he uttered in the clip during York's run to the fourth round.

Media references to namesake Harry Potter were glittered like fairy-dust after he netted in a 2-0 upset win over Reading in Round Two.

And in an TV interview ahead of the draw for the Premier League clubs entering the competition, he delivered a piece of acting worthy of the top-flight's worst divers.

Addressing the camera face-on, Potter said: "Well, that was magic.

"Let's just hope the draw conjures up a Premiership side in the next round."

The ex-Southampton chief, 47, is currently using the international break to assess how his squad needs strengthening, with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly happy to splash out again in January.

But it was a different world back in 2002 when he was thrust into the limelight for bottom-flight side York, who crashed into non-League two seasons later, where they remain.

And two decades on, his stagy media performance has been mocked on social media.

Fans piled in with comments like "Top quality acting this" and "beautiful television".

York went on to stun second-tier Grimsby 1-0 in a replay before a 2–0 fourth-round exit at home too Fulham, who were in their first ever Prem campaign.

One cynical viewer of Potter's TV exchange posted: "Wonder if he still thinks the #FACup is magic or, will his #greedy6 club @ChelseaFC vote to diminish its magical qualities?"
