    FED PICKS RAF

Tennis legend Chris Evert believes Roger Federer will be backing Nadal to come out on top today, despite the fact he could equal the Swiss player's Grand Slam tally.

“I would say he may be rooting for Rafa a little bit more, but only because they’re friends,” she told Express Sport.

    “But that’s a tough question.”

But she also added: “Novak is at times, not human. I look at Nadal and see a warrior, fighting for everything, he’s going to leave blood on the court.

“I look at Djokovic and I see more of a robot but in a good sense. The mental part of his game is a level ahead of everyone else, it’s awesome.”

    NOVAK'S ROUTE

Djokovic, not playing on his favourite surface by any means, comes into today with a few more battle scars.

First, he got rid of Mikael Ymer 6-0, 6-2, 6-3, before beating Ricardas Berankis 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.

Colombian Daniel Galan then got taken care of with ease, losing to the Serb 6-0, 6-3, 6-2, while fourth-round opponent Karen Khachanov lost 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.

This is where it got tricky for Djokovic, as Pablo Carreno Busta took a set from him for the first time in the competition, losing the first one of their match before winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4.

And in the semis, in an epic math with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Djokovic came out on top, winning 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6, 6-1.

    NADAL'S ROUTE

Well, he's been unbelievable so far, having not dropped a single set in his six game of the tournament.

First he beat out Egor Gerasimov 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 before taking apart American Maceknzie McDonald one emphatic fashion 6-1, 6-0, 6-3.

Next on his hit-list was Italian Stefano Travaglia, who he smashed 6-1, 6-4, 6-0. And yep, the next opponent Sebastian Korda got a bit of a pasting too – 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.

For the first time of the tournament, in the quarters, Jannik Sinner took six games from Nadal in one set, but ultimately lost 7-6, 6-4, 6-1.

And in the semis, Diego Schwartzman did the same, but he couldn't stop a 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 defeat.
