IT'S GUINEAS day on Saturday, and I for one am absolutely buzzing.

The big race itself is a cracker and I'll be cheering on Ten Sovereigns on his first foray over a mile.

But the value bet of the day is BLONDE WARRIOR (5.20 Newmarket) in the closing mile handicap.

He was progressive on quick ground last summer, winning a couple of novice races in a common canter, and things didn't go to plan when eighth in a Group 2 (only sent off 8-1) on his next start.

He rounded off his campaign with a cracking second in a valuable conditions event at Chelmsford, and for all he was out with the washing on his return to action at Newbury, it came on soft ground which he clearly hated.

There is no doubt he will be overpriced on the back of that run, but he will relish this faster ground and he lines up off an attractive mark with James Doyle in the plate.
