Strictly Come Dancing's contestant Adam Peaty has opened up to fans over a serious awkward mistake he made in front of several dancers.

The star was supposed to be meeting partner Katya Jones to rehearse for the live Strictly show Saturday.

Feeling ready for the rehearsal, he walked straight in but realised he made a grave mistake – and was in the wrong studio altogether.

He accidentally got dropped off at the dance studio causing hilarious confusion from the tap dancers who were in the room – so he quickly bolted.

The Olympian shared the awkward but funny story with his 134.4 thousand Twitter followers along with the laughing face emoji.

He tweeted: “Just been dropped at the wrong dance studio, walked into a whole class doing tap dance.

“I wanted to join but walked straight out as I have a Rumba to conquer before Saturday”.

Even though Adam wanted to get involved in the tap class, he has been taking his Strictly training with Katya very seriously.

However, this would be no shock to his fans after the Olympian has won three gold medals at The Olympic Games.

Adams's social media followers were quick to comment on the funny incident, some saying the tap dancers must have been very surprised.

One said: "Bit of a shock when an Olympic champion walks in on your tap dancing class!”

Another user wrote: “I bet that made their day!”

Others joked that the athlete should have found a pair of tap shoes and got involved.

One wrote: “Tap dance is equally as addictive as swimming – I catch my kids practicing while queuing”.

“You should have joined them [laughing emoji] dance was there go to while the pools were shut,” another said.

A third compared the moment to a famous film: “That is, quite frankly, brilliant!!!!!! Shame you didn't join in though! I mean, look at Billy Elliott!!!!"

Adam and Katya will be performing the first Rumba of the 2021 series this Saturday.

This week is movie week, which means the celebrities and their pro dancing partners will be dancing along to popular movie songs from Hairspray, Titanic and Pirates of the Caribbean.
