BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay was missing from the show AGAIN today as a new host was forced to step in.

Jon, 52, was confirmed as Dan Walker's permanent replacement last month, hosting Monday to Wednesday each week alongside Sally Nugent.

However, the pair haven't had chance to co-host together very much since then with Jon testing positive for Covid before his first official day and Sally having time off.

Fans hoping to see the pair together on Tuesdays show were left disappointed as Jon was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, guest host Ben Thompson was alongside Sally on the red sofa.

Thankfully, Ben is a welcome face on the show as much as Jon, so viewers were happy to see him.

Ben was also on the red sofa instead of Jon on Monday, and admitted being back at work with a touch of the holiday blues.

He wrote alongside a snap of him and Sally posted on his Instagram: "If anyone’s going to help me shift the post-holiday blues, it’s @sallynugenttv. Morning from @BBCBreakfast, we’re on @BBCOne til 0915."

Ben has just returned from a trip to Sicily with his partner Andy and their pals.
