RADIO presenter Wynne Evans has told fans he will be off air for several days after an operation.

The 51-year-old, who will appear on the upcoming series of Celebrity MasterChef this week, will be taking a break from his show on BBC Wales.

Wynne underwent bunion surgery last week and has been updating fans with his recovery on social media.

But unfortunately it's taking a little while longer than he expected to recover – meaning he can't present his morning show between 9am and midday.

Wynne said on Twitter: "I won’t be back @BBCRadioWales until Thursday at the earliest this week. I’m so sorry.

"The operation has been more painful and debilitating that I thought it would in my unrealistic expectations.

Fans rushed to reply to the tweet to send their best wishes.

One said: "Sending all my love and healing vibes your way, @wynneevans! Take all the time you need to recover and come back stronger. We'll be eagerly waiting for your return."
