Bob and Paul talk about Ted the dog ‘taking over’ Gone Fishing

Bob Mortimer admitted “I’m never very well” as he discussed the new series of Gone Fishing with Alex Jones and Roman Kemp.

After sharing his health update ahead of the BBC programme, his co-star Paul Whitehouse discussed a new addition to the show – Ted the Dog.

Roman began by asking Bob about the show and how “getting close to nature has health benefits”.

He asked: “I mean, that’s kind of how the series started, right?”

“Yeah, I wasn’t very well,” Bob replied before admitting: “I am never very well. It’s been a long time since I’ve been very well.”

Ted the dog has become the star of Gone Fishing, although, Paul didn’t seem to pleased about it.

“He has just become a social media superstar, hasn’t he?” Roman asked.

“I am very bitter about it, aren’t I?” Paul weighed in. “Really bitter.”

“He goes on a date in this series, doesn’t he?” Bob went on. “It doesn’t go too well.”

“With hilarious results,” Paul added. “Like most of our dates, Bob.”

“And he has a big birthday party which Paul attends and he regrets probably for the rest of your life,” Bob laughed.

Paul chimed in: “I still wake up in a cold sweat…Ted’s birthday. But yeh, he has taken over, hasn’t he?”
