Coronation Street: Paul struggles to lift his wine glass

Coronation Street’s Paul Foreman (played by Peter Ash) has been desperate to make quick cash in order to help his family.

He has growing fears that his motor neurone disease will creep up on him and leave his family and boyfriend Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in a pile of debt.

Trying to help, Paul turned to Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) for help and was tasked to steal Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) latest victim Rufus Donahue’s (Steve Meo) car.

When driving the car, his hand began to play up which meant he was swerving in the road and he got pulled over by the police.

Paul was eventually taken to the police station where he was charged and needed the help of a solicitor and friend Dee-Dee Bailey (Shannique Sterling-Brown).

In upcoming scenes, Paul is gutted to realise that he’s due in court for sentencing the day before Gemma Winter’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) wedding day.

If he has to be in court, he runs the risk of missing out on her big day, but as a result, will he end up spending more time in prison?

Later, Gemma calls at the factory and shows Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) a wedding dress that she had picked up in the charity shop.

Wanting to feel special on her big day, Gemma asks if she can turn it into something more than it is.

Discussing their wedding guest list, Gemma tells Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) that they should invite Linda Armstrong (Jaqueline Leonard) to the wedding and Chesney agrees.

Will she add more pressure to their wedding day if Paul is also unable to make it?

Linda is the grandmother of Chesney Brown’s young son Joseph (William Flanagan) and returned last year to check in on how they were doing.

After she caught Chesney out for lying, she promised to stick around for a while and help out but was soon thrown out of their home.

Ready to take action, Linda first slyly suggested Joseph should come live with her in Portugal which left Chesney fuming and throwing her out.

He made it clear to Linda that she should stay away from them and Joseph, refusing to accept her previous offer of help.

Will Linda have something to say about their budget wedding if she is able to make it?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
