Coronation Street: Daisy and Ryan have heart-to-heart in hospital

Coronation Street fans were devastated when Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) had to postpone their wedding after Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still) threw acid at the bride.

Unfortunately, it seems like they won’t make it down the aisle after all as actress Charlotte teased Daisy is falling for another man.

Instead of fiance Daniel, Daisy’s eyes are all for Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), who jumped in to stop Justin’s attack on the bar maid.

Daisy and Ryan have previously dated but they split up and she moved on to get engaged to Daniel.

However, Ryan’s heroic actions may have reignited a spark between the former lovers.

Daisy has been texting Ryan from an old phone, pretending to be DJ Crystal in an effort to keep his hopes up as he recovers.

As she focusses on Ryan, she starts to fall for him, explaining: “It’s going to be a really confusing time for Daisy.

“She’s brushed her own recovery under the rug and is really focusing on Ryan.

“She feels responsible for him so her feelings are going to get really messy and she’s going to get confused it’s going to get quite chaotic.”

Charlotte added to Metro: “Then the story may morph into a ‘can you love two people at once?’ storyline.”

Daisy is still engaged to, and in love with, Daniel meaning there is potential for a sticky situation on the Street.

Her co-star Ryan added it will get “very complicated” as the pair “bond” over the trauma of the acid attack.

He explained: “There is the potential between Ryan and Daisy for sparks to happen and things to occur.

“Obviously, she’s with Daniel and that’s why there’s so much complication but there is potential in the future for complications there, 100 percent.”

The actor confirmed for as long as Ryan is in the show, he will be physically and mentally scarred.

He revealed: “There’s a long road for Ryan to go down regardless when it comes to recovery whether that’s on a psychological level or a physical level.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV from 8pm.
