Dancing On Ice’s finalists want to take on the show’s professionals in a brand new contest.

And they believe this could become “the greatest show on ice”.

Ex Strictly dancer Brendan Cole has thrown down the gauntlet to the talented skaters.

He wants finalists from past series including his current co-stars Regan Gascoigne and Kimberly Wyatt to take part in a very special edition of the ITV series.

And he has pitched the idea of pitting the show’s best celebrity skaters against its pros.

Brendan said: “I think it would be quite cool to see ex competitors like us coming back and pairing up as a team and seeing how far you can go against the pros.

“It will be interesting to see what choreography you can come up with.

“As choreographers we all put our own influence on our routines. We don’t necessarily know the ins and outs about how to get in and out of certain things n the ice but we are all creative.”

Asked if they would put Olympic champions and TV judges Torvill and Dean into the pros’ team, he laughed: “No. I think we will leave Torvill and Dean out of it.”

The final of Dancing On Ice airs tomorrow on ITV at 7pm.

This comes after the show's entire celebrity cast reunited for a much-needed party ahead of the highly-anticipated live final this weekend.

Throughout yesterday (March 25), former contestants including Connor Ball and Liberty Poole have been posting on their Instagram Stories about how it has felt to be back on the ice following their eliminations earlier on in the competition.

All celebs will perform for one last time in the final.

The entire cast even posed for a group photo on the ice together. Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor shared the emotional picture to her Instagram Story after they finished practising their final routines.
