Ever since they were partnered up for this year’s Dancing on Ice, Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant and professional skating partner Vanessa Bauer have been plagued by rumours that they’ve fallen for each other.

These reports were further fuelled when 18 year old Joe split from his girlfriend Nicole Hadlow after three years together.

However, Joe, who plays Jacob in Emmerdale, has now spoken out to deny there’s any blossoming relationship between him and Vanessa and that they’ve simply got a good professional partnership.

He continued that it’s important to build a friendship between them so that they can work well together on the ice.

"You have to have a certain level of chemistry between you and your partner," he said.

And he’s been taking tips from his co-star and on-screen dad Matthew Wolfenden, who won the show back in 2012.

Joe said: "Matthew who plays my dad on Emmerdale, he won it a few years back, so I’ve been talking to him about it and the advice he’s given me was to just enjoy it!"

Adding what pearls of wisdom Matthew had given him, Joe explained that he’s been on hand for lots of advice whenever he’s needed it.

The soap actor explained he told him the exciting news he was taking part straight away.

"When I found out I was taking part in the show, he said to me that you cannot downplay the amount of strength it is going to take to endure this competition," the actor said.

"It’s very tough not only physically but mentally as well. And he said to just enjoy it!"
