EastEnders icon Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) has recently taken in Walford’s loudmouth Janine Butcher (Charlie Brookes) after she was made homeless just before Christmas. As Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is away with their new born daughter Annie, Janine and Mick have grown close and even shared some banter underneath the mistletoe. However, as Janine got the wrong impression from Mick and tried to seduce him, he turned her down and threw her out of The Vic. Will Janine get her revenge by exposing the truth about Baby Annie’s real father?
During Monday night’s episode, Mick walked into Janine naked in his bed and asked: “What on earth are you doing?”
Feeling flirty, Janine told him: “Most men would be delighted to find a naked woman in their bed!”
However, he wasn’t impressed with her response and fired back: “Well, I’m not most men, so….”
From downstairs, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) could be heard telling Mick to hurry up as the pub started to get busy with punters.
Mick shut the door and told Janine: “I was willing to accept the mistletoe thing, you know it was a bit of banter, but this, this is madness!”
Soon feeling embarrassed, Janine pulled the covers up closer to her face and said: “I thought this was what you wanted!”
Furious and also embarrassed, Mick firmly told Janine: “Well, you’re wrong because I’m married, and I love my wife!”
Not wanting to look at Janine any longer, Mick said: “Don’t embarrass yourself, Janine,” before walking out of the bedroom and leaving her looking red-faced.
After leaving Janine to gather herself and get dressed, Mick returned upstairs and told her she was needed downstairs to help with the punters.
Following Mick into the kitchen, she remarked: “Talk about leading a girl on,” to which Mick snapped: “No, no, that’s not true!”
“Stop it, Janine, I’m with Linda, I love Linda!” however, Janine wouldn’t let it slide and continued: “Well, where is she then?
“If you love her so much, you’ve got a beautiful new daughter, and you didn’t even spend Christmas with them you spent it with me!
“I’m sorry, but all this I love Linda, you can say it as much as you like, your actions don’t match up to your words.
“And don’t think I haven’t noticed, Nancy does all the video calling with little Ollie, you’re avoiding them, aren’t you?”
Feeling backed into a corner and not wanting to tell Janine the truth, Mick told her: “My marriage is none of your business.”
Janine continued to press: “What could have happened to make you want to avoid your wife and your new born baby?
“Annie isn’t yours, is she? She’s Max’s.”
As Janine worked out the truth, Mick told her: “I don’t want you in my gaff anymore, I don’t want you in my pub.
“My mother was right I should never have let you stay here in the first place, I want you out now!” before he stormed off downstairs.
Later, when Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) returned from a date with Zack Hudson (James Farrar), Mick explained he was going to get Linda and Annie and bring them back home.
“Me and Janine have had a chat, and its been lovely having her here, but we won’t have the room soon because I’m gonna go and get your mother and Annie, and I’m gonna bring them home!
“Yeah, so you can stay till they get home, but we will need the space because I need my L back here with me behind this bar where she belongs.”
Will Janine be able to let their little mishap go or will she get her revenge and expose the truth about baby Annie and ruin Mick?
