With the residents still reeling from the repercussions of recent events, this week's Emmerdale spoilers reveal courtroom drama for Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Naomi (Karene Peter) with threats, lies and deception all order of the day.
As the trial begins, Naomi is blindsided when Saskia's barrister argues the defendants were no longer friends with Naomi after an altercation over money.
She states that she feels ostracised from the gang and this is why she’s dragged the defendants into this mess.
Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) makes a bad situation much worse by trying to manipulate Nicola into speaking favourably about Naomi in court. Manpreet fears her interaction with Nicola might be the final nail in the coffin for Naomi's trial.
Later, Naomi's barrister runs rings around Nicola on the stand, highlighting to the jury that her case against Naomi is lacking credible evidence.
Back at home, Nicola’s roiling at the injustice of what she’ll do if the gang get off. Meanwhile, Naomi considers the possibility that she might end up going down for a crime she didn’t commit.
The next day, Naomi runs into a manipulative Saskia in the toilets who insinuates that Naomi owes her money. Saskia threatens to drag Naomi’s family into this if she doesn’t change her version of events.
The prosecution barrister cross examines a composed Saskia and points out Naomi has implicated herself in a serious crime, appealing to the jury that her client has no motive to lie.
Naomi tries to ignore Saskia as she prepares to give her version of events. When the defence barrister gives her a hard time in her cross examination, she can no longer contain herself and erupts with upset and outrage as she comes clean about Saskia’s threats.
As the trial comes to an end, the judge addresses the jury urging them to assess the evidence presented to them but it’s clear Nicola’s not optimistic.
Back at home, Nicola is feeling exhausted and fed up whilst Ethan and Charles try to encourage a downbeat Naomi but she has already resigned herself to the possibility of going to prison.
Elsewhere Nate (Jurell Carter) admits to Naomi that he slept with Tracy (Amy Walsh). After last week’s hostage drama Kim (Claire King) is delighted she’s got her family back again as she offers Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Billy (Jay Kontzle) free lodgings, and the chuffed couple accept.
Also, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) announces that she’s finally dropped Faith’s ashes off at the factory to become a firework. Having collected Liv’s ashes, Vinny (Bradley Johnson) is sat with Chip feeling lost and depressed as he comes to the realisation that Liv is never coming back.
Elsewhere, April’s (Amelia Flanagan) hurt when Cathy’s plan to get her and Arthur (Alfie Clarke) together backfires and Arthur bolts from the café to do his homework.
