Tonight’s instalment of Emmerdale saw Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) befriended by a young man, Lee, by a kebab van outside the club where the villagers had been partying.
At first it seemed as though Lee was nice and had Victoria’s best interests at heart as he offered to carry her home after they were thrown out of a taxi.
But things took a dark turn when he asked to go into her home for a cup of tea as he waited for a taxi home.
Victoria said it was fine for him to wait inside while he waited for his ride but Lee had no intentions of going home.
Oh god Victoria. That was horrendous
When The Woolpack chef went upstairs to change out of her clothes from the club, Lee followed her upstairs.
She was shocked when, as she took off her false eyelashes, he appeared in the mirror behind her.
Victoria turned around quickly and insisted he leave her home but he refused and could be seen holding his hand over her mouth and throwing her onto the bed.
Viewers were not shown what happened next but Victoria could be seen with bruises on her body as Lee left her lying on her bed.
It was clear Victoria had been raped and has been struggling to cope with the traumatic experience ever since.
Those tuning in to the flashback instalment tonight were left heartbroken and took to Twitter to reveal they had been left in tears.
One viewer tweeted: “Devastating episode. Could feel my blood running cold as it played out. If only Vic had accepted a lift from Robert. He’s gonna be beside himself when he finds out what happened to his sister #Emmerdale @Hodge_Isabel.”
Another added: “Oh god Victoria. That was horrendous. #Emmerdale.”
“Heartbreaking episode to watch.. poor vic! #emmerdale,” a third shared.
Someone else wrote: “#Emmerdale NO means NO! Hard episode to watch that. Brilliant acting by Victoria!.”
Others praised actress Isabel for her performance, with one fan tweeting: “I’m blown away by how good @Hodge_Isabel was tonight.
“She was in almost every scene and absolutely outstanding. I’m still shaken by the episode #Emmerdale.”
It’s not yet known how the storyline will play out but now Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) knows the truth, it’s likely she will want Victoria to go to the police.
And, it seems the police may be able to catch Victoria’s rapist as he was seen putting his number into her phone before he raped her.
Will this help Victoria get justice and police arrest the man responsible or did Lee leave a different number?
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm.
