BBC Breakfast was hosted by Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt on Saturday morning. After finishing off an interview, Naga handed over to Matt Tebbutt as he teased ahead to his episode of Saturday Kitchen. However, Matt seemed to take offence when Naga gave him an unusual introduction.
After finishing up an interview with Professor Linda Bauld and Dr Chris Smith, Naga handed over to Matt.
She was introducing Matt so he could let viewers know what was coming up on Saturday Kitchen, but she couldn’t help making a cheeky dig at the TV chef.
Naga said: “I bet Linda will name drop something, maybe she will name drop Matt Tebbutt or just drop Matt Tebbutt, no no no never!”
“Is that my introduction?” Matt asked, with Naga replying: “Do you want more?”
“No, unnecessary, unnecessary. Here I am, you’re welcome. How are you guys?” Matt asked.
However, it seems Naga and Charlie didn’t hear the Saturday Morning presenters question as they didn’t reply.
“Brilliant. I love our chats,” Matt said, joking at the awkward silence, causing Naga to burst out laughing.
He continued: “Right our special guest today is Oti Mabuse – shall we chat?
“Or are you going to blank me as well?” Matt jokingly asked.
“No, no, no I’ll reply,” Strictly Come Dancing star Oti said reassuringly.
Matt then asked Oti how she was and questioned if she liked his pink shirt.
“I do. Why are you asking me? Do you like your shirt?” Oti replied.
“I do like my shirt. It’s just, it’s pink and it’s normally blue. Just getting opinions. Just a bit of a sweeping poll,” Matt remarked.
Later on, when Matt handed back to BBC Breakfast, he once again took a swipe at Naga.
Naga asked: “Matt, what do you mean you’re not a fan of the truth?”
“Oh don’t start. Don’t start. Don’t get all newsy on me!” Matt replied, teasing the BBC Breakfast star.
Naga said: “Oh how very dare I. Don’t you get all chef-y on me, but that would need some effort I think.”
“I think the pink shirt’s fine by the way,” Charlie interjected.
“Fine. That’s what’s worth getting up for in the morning,” Matt joked.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One and Saturday Kitchen airs on Saturdays at 10am also on BBC One.
