Georgia and Liam walk down the aisle in Friday’s edition of Married At First Sight Australia, airing on Channel 4’s sister network E4 after season eight was broadcast exclusively Down Under earlier this year. It’s been several months since the programme came to an end and viewers will be interested to know if the couple, who made history on the show, are still together. Here is everything you need to know about where the pair are now in their lives.
Are Married At First Sight couple Georgia and Liam still together?
From the offset, it seemed the pairing was a match made in heaven as the nuptials were carried out with no problems at hand.
Shortly after they tied the knot, it was revealed Liam was the first openly bisexual groom to be cast in the show’s eight-season history.
Georgia didn’t have any issue with Liam’s sexuality and told him: “[It has] led you to be here and the person you are. As long as you’re the person for me.”
Unfortunately, her words did not match her actions as in some of the final episodes of the season, she was seen in a video where homophobia was a strong theme.
The way Liam spoke to his bride also became an issue during the final dinner party of the season and it became clear the relationship was not going to last.
Despite their best efforts, the couple decided to part ways and since the show has ended, they have remained good friends.
Speaking on Instagram following the end of their journey together, Liam told his bride: “I really wish things had worked out differently for us.
“I wish we didn’t let people get inside our heads and I wish we were better at communicating,” he continued.
Liam shared how he wanted Georgia to go on and find the love of her life, adding: “I wish you all the best with your life journey and I hope you find the guy you are looking for. I am sorry that wasn’t me.”
The groom had hoped he would be able to find love with a woman on the show after having relationships with both sexes.
I really wish things had worked out
During his introductory video package, Liam said: “So when it comes to my future I do see myself with a woman and having kids and having that kind of relationship.
“I know there’s a lot of people that won’t understand that but that’s what I want,” the singleton said and although he wasn’t a part of a same-sex couple, his appearance on the show was groundbreaking.
Georgia was looking for someone who was willing to support her dreams as her career had been something she felt very strongly about away from the show.
She wanted someone who was driven and although she hadn’t had a huge amount of dating experience, she was hoping to find “the one” in the experiment.
Where are Married At First Sight Australia’s Georgia and Liam now?
Following her participation in the show, Georgia has decided to take some time for herself, stating she doesn’t want to find someone else just yet.
She is happily single and progressing with her career and she has said there are no bad feelings between her and Liam.
The reality show contestant shared of her former husband: “I wish him nothing but happiness. He seems happy so that’s great.
“MAFS was a crazy thing that we went through together but we had a bit of an intense break-up so we’ve gone our separate ways,” she told Who Magazine.
However, Liam is in a relationship with former Married At First Sight New Zealand star, Samuel Levi.
Shortly after filming wrapped on the Australian version of the show, the pair got together after becoming friends.
Liam announced the news to the world on his Instagram platform in which he praised Samuel for coming into his life.
The reality show contestant wrote: “Life works in mysterious ways and this guy came into my life when I least expected it.
“I know I don’t have to explain my life or what I do but I am very open and honest and wanted to let you all know.
“I met this guy early this year after the experiment. We hit it off and we remained friends until recently. Samuel has shown me what support looks like, what trust looks like and much more.”
Married At First Sight Australia airs weeknights at 7:30pm on E4.
