Gogglebox stars’ famous friends and family – from Naomi Campbell to Nigel Farage

Googlebox stars have been welcomed into the living rooms of the nation for the past eight years.

Fans of the Channel 4 show have come to love the families and friends who offer their opinions on the latest shows on television.

Some of the group of armchair critics have gone on to find fame on shows such as I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Big Brother.

However, prior to becoming households name themselves, some cast members have already had a claim to fame.

From a supermodel distant cousin to a political friend, there are some very intriguing relationships.

The Chuckle Brothers

Siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford have become stand out stars since first appearing on the show in 2017.

The brother and sister duo are known for their ruthless remarks and regularly mocking TV stars.

Gogglebox fans were sent into meltdown when they discovered that the pair are related to the Chuckle Brothers.

Sophie and Pete are the great-niece and nephew of Paul and the late Barry Chuckle.

TV icon Paul shared a throwback snap with the brother and sister in March 2019, writing: "This day 2018 with my great-niece and nephew.”

Sophie also paid tribute to Barry following his tragic death in August 2018.

She penned: "You filled millions of childhoods with laughter and entertainment including mine and Peter’s.

"You will be sadly missed by many. Rest in peace Uncle Barry.”

Meanwhile, an old photo of the stars has also been posted on social media, which shows Blackpool duo Pete and Sophie as babies with Paul and Barry Chuckle.

Naomi Campbell

Former Gogglebox favourite Sandi Bogle is related to supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The jaw-dropping connection was exposed during Sandi's stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2017.

As part of a task, the celebrity housemates had to guess which of their fellow contestants a statement belonged to, and they correctly chose Sandi.

After getting gunged as part of the challenge, Sandi wiped away the yellow gloop and confessed: "Naomi is my cousin, her mother is related to my mother, so yeah, family."

Sandi and her pal Sandra Martin gave viewers plenty of laughs when they were on Gogglebox.

But the takeaway-loving pair were torn apart in 2016 when Sandi decided to quit the show, leaving Sandra to continue with her daughter Chanchez.

Naomi herself appeared in a special edition of Gogglebox back in 2014 alongside fellow model Kate Moss and Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

Edele Lynch and Stephanie Pratt

George Gilbey joined the cast of Gogglebox back in 2013 along with his mum Linda and dad Peter.

When he decided to take part in Celebrity Big Brother, the family were axed from the series, as part of the Gogglebox rules against participating in other shows.

Despite being one of the least famous people in the CBB house that year, George somehow managed to charm the ladies.

George actually found himself in an awkward love triangle with The Hills beauty Stephanie Pratt and B*Witched star Edele Lynch.

His attention was initially on Steph claiming he was "in love" with Made in Chelsea star to fellow housemates after they shared a kiss.

However, once the blonde bombshell was evicted Georgie moved onto B*Witched singer Edele.

That same night they locked lips outside before kissing in bed together.

George finished in fourth place, then had to face Stephanie when he left the famous house.

"I'm obviously a very bad judge of character. Edele's my best friend and so is George," said Made in Chelsea's Stephanie on Bit On The Side.

"You [Edele] and George were my best friends in the house, that was the worst betrayal."

George and pop star Edele went on holiday to a caravan park when they left the house but their romance fizzled out.

Nigel Farage

Gogglebox icons Steph and Dom Parker formed a close bond with politician Nigel Farage while filming a television show.

The couple's hotel was in South Thanet, the Kent constituency where Farage stood in the 2015 general election.

To mark the occasion, Steph and Dom met up with him for a one-off programme.

The former UKIP leader had been warned about the Parkers' reputation for boozing before he rocked up and replied: "Don't take me on."

Things didn't go strictly to plan as Nigel spilled champagne on his trousers and had to wear a pair of Dom's ripped jeans.

Rather than politics, they were more interested in quizzing Farage about the break-up of his first marriage and the testicle he lost due to cancer.

However, while they did hit it off, it didn't change the Parkers' political stance.

"Don’t expect me to vote UKIP!” smiled Dom cheerily as he waved his guest goodbye."

Gogglebox continues on Channel 4 on Friday at 9pm
