Gogglebox fans couldn't hold back their praise for Channel 4 favourite Mica Ven following her criticism of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

It comes after the government launched it's Home for Ukraine website which allows people who want to host a refugee to sign up, with 100,000 people putting their name forward on the first day.

Housing and Communities Secretary Michael Gove said each household housing a refugee will be offered £350 a month, tax free, under the scheme.

Gogglebox often shows families watching lighthearted and comedic shows, but on Friday (March 18), the families tuned into a BBC News segment.

With the scheme being the focus of the segment, Mica was quick to share her thoughts as she discussed them with her partner Marcus Luther.

She said: "Not being funny, this isn't the first refugee situation, you know what I mean? How come only now there's incentives to encourage people to help refugees?"

Mica's comments were immediately praised by fans, with many taking to Twitter in a flurry to show their support for her.

One user wrote: "Mica talking truth there!"

While another added: "Good on Mica for calling out the hypocrisy regarding refugees."

A third wrote: "Mice speaking sense."

While Mica was praised for her comments, elsewhere in the episode she left viewers in hysterics after realising she was caught in the ultimate fashion blunder.

She was seen lying on her back with her legs in the air while Marcus attempted to help her pull up her jeans.

However, the thing that truly had fans laughing was Mica's warnings to Marcus as she told him to "never tell anyone" that he was forced to help her get her jeans on.

She said: "If you ever tell anyone you know that I've got to go through this… This madness, this is mad."

Seeing the funny side Marcus then teased her as he added: "Do you think I'd tell my bredrins this, I'm ashamed of this."

While they were happily laughing away, fans were quick to remind Mica that the duo were on TV, and they had witnessed every aspect of her awkward blunder.

Viewers were certainly loving Mica on Friday night's show, from her stern words to her fashion faux pas.

Gogglebox airs Fridays on Channel 4 at 9pm
