THE Great British Bake Off is to relocate the show's iconic tent after getting rid of the strict 'Covid bubble' rules.

The Channel 4 programme look to have moved on from their regular filming spot at Down Hall Hotel in Essex since the last series.

Bake Off has been filmed at the stunning countryside spot since 2020, with the judges, presenters and contestants living in the hotel.

However, this year will mark the end of the six-week quarantine period required by the hopeful bakers to take part.

The hotel rooms and 100 acres of parkland at Down Hall Hotel are available to book all summer – suggesting the tent has moved.

A spokeswoman for the show told The Mirror: "We won’t film in a bubble this year, but protocols will be in place to keep everyone safe.”

One source added: “All the team, particularly Prue, found it really tough not being able to go home each week.

“They are delighted that this year it will go back to the way it was, when they filmed at weekends and could leave during the week.”

Last year in quarantine, show host Noel Fielding stayed in quarantine with his DJ girlfriend Lliana Bird for the six-week show.

Meanwhile, judge Paul Hollywood was joined by his girlfriend Melissa Spalding, and Prue Leith also stayed within the hotel complex.

While it hasn't been revealed where filming will take place, Welford Park in Berkshire has been suggested as an option.

It comes after fans of The Great British Bake Off were overjoyed to find out one of their favourite stars had 'returned'.

In the episode, former co-host Sandi Toksvig was back on the show alongside Noel Fielding, which filled fans with glee.

However, many had failed to recognise that this was a repeat of an old episode and thought she was back for good.
