Fast & Furious presents: Hobbs and Shaw, the Fast and Furious spin off, has been a roaring success for its stars: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham. The pair play adversaries who are forced to work together to save the world. But how much has the film made?

How much has Hobbs and Shaw made at the box office?

Hobbs and Shaw has made a staggering $438.6million, which is £362.7million, worldwide with around a quarter of that coming from the USA.

In the UK, the movie topped the box office on its first weekend, and has made approximately $20.1million in the UK, which is £16.5million.

This film will of course whet fans’ appetites ahead of the release of Fast & Furious 9, the latest film in the main franchise which will be released in 2020.

What is Hobbs and Shaw about?

Hobbs and Shaw follows Luke Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham) are former adversaries who are forced to work together.

The pair met when Luke tried to bring down Deckard’s brother, Owen, with help from Dom Toretto’s crew in Fast & Furious 6.

Since then, Hobbs and Shaw have not been on the best of terms but, they are forced to work together when Deckard’s sister, Hattie (played by Vanessa Kirby) becomes infected with a deadly virus while trying to contain it as part of an MI5 operation.

Hobbs and Shaw must save Hattie while also stopping the virus from spreading or getting into the hands of the fearless Brixton, played by Idris Elba.

Will Hobbs and Shaw be in Fast & Furious 9?

At present, neither Hobbs nor Shaw are confirmed to appear in Fast & Furious 9.

However, with another film expected from the Fast & Furious franchise, it maybe that the pair return as allies rather than enemies.

As well as this, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed he would return for Hobbs & Shaw 2, raising hopes that the pair will be reunited at some point.
